The Alliance of RI Southeast Asians for Education - Hidden Lotus Program

For this year’s Hidden Lotus program, we are looking inwards to the source of our identities, and learning about how they play out in our everyday lives. The approach to identifying ourselves is taken through a holistic lens, shining light on our insecurities, our interpersonal perspective, and our bodies in order to honor, respect, and uplift every aspect of the individual. While simultaneously applying their newfound power to form a better society through connection and resistance.

The Alliance of RI Southeast Asians for Education

In this program, we will explore our identity, history, and issues that matter to us through the lens of Ethnic studies. Ethnic studies is a study of race, ethnicity, and indignity with an emphasis on the experiences of people of color in the United States. We will learn from communities of color intergenerational worldviews, memories, experiences, identities, narratives, and voices by engaging in conversations, examining multiple forms of media, and engaging in experiential learning opportunities.
